Sami's art has rarely been about painting, drawing, sculpture, or photography, but rather has been incorporated into their everyday objects. While Westernly defined art did not appear until the 20th century, there are two Sami artists who stand out, John Savio and Nils Nilsson Skum. Their work depicts what everyday life is like in traditional Sami culture. This includes landscapes, everyday activities, work, recreation, and familial bonds.
